Roddy and Ganz Assessments

Details:

1) Use “Roddy and Ganz Worksheets” to complete an assessment of the research studies: “Evidence-Based Clinical Guidelines: A New System to Better Determine True Strength of Recommendation” by Roddy et al., and “ICU Nurses’ Oral-Care Practices and the Current Best Evidence” by Ganz et al.

2) In a paper (1,000-1,250 words), analyze and support whether you believe that the changes recommended are statistically valid and sound enough to make practice changes in a hospital.

3) Prepare this assignment according to the APA guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.

4) This assignment uses a grading rubric. Instructors will be using the rubric to grade the assignment; therefore, students should review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the assignment criteria and expectations for successful completion of the assignment.

What was the research question?

What were the independent variables?

What was the dependent variable?

What was the sample size and how was it chosen?

What was the experimental design and use of control group?

Were the instruments of measurement shown to be reliable and valid?

What data types were included?

Describe the statistics used, what they were used for, and the results.

What were the researchers’ conclusions? How did they answer the research question(s)?

How was error controlled?

Did you see any concerns with the research study? If so, what?

ADDITIONAL INFO

What are the indicators for using a regression analysis?

Introduction

If you’re a data analyst, there’s no doubt that regressions are one of the most important tools in your arsenal. But what exactly is a regression analysis? And how can we use it to solve problems? In this post, I’ll walk through the basics of using regression analysis for different kinds of users and situations so that you can get started using it yourself!

Regression analysis

Regression analysis is a method of predicting the value of a dependent variable from one or more independent variables. The goal of regression analysis is to find the best fitting model that fits all the data points in your dataset, or at least as many as possible. In other words, you can use it to find out whether an increase in price would result in an increase or decrease in sales and how much additional revenue you could expect if you raise prices by 10%.

The process involves creating two equations (one for each variable) based on information about how they relate to each other. These are then used together with data points from real world observations so we can predict future results based on past ones

High school students

You may have noticed that high school students are not adults. They’re still growing and learning, so they’re going to make mistakes when they try something new.

This is true of your own children as well! Don’t be too hard on them if they don’t do things right the first time around—they’ll get better at it over time, just like you did when you were their age.

It’s also important to remember that high school students are often under- or unemployed (or both). If a student has no money or doesn’t have access to computers where he/she can run an analysis from home, then there’s no way he/she would be able to afford one either.

College students

College students are a great population to study because they’re often in a state of transition. They’re leaving high school, going to college and moving away from home for the first time. These transitions can be challenging for anyone, but they can also be extremely confusing. In fact, many college students experience some form of psychological distress (or “adjustment disorder”) during their first year at school because they are adjusting to all these new things happening at once.

College students may also be experiencing other kinds of distress related to their personal relationships: maybe you’re dating someone who isn’t your type; maybe your boyfriend broke up with you; or maybe your family members don’t understand what’s going on with you anymore!

People who are relatively young

  • The average age of the sample was around 25 years old.

  • Most of the participants in this study were in school and college, so they had time to study.

Adults with a medical condition

Adults with a medical condition

  • People who have a chronic condition. This includes people with diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease. It’s also important to consider if you are planning to have children or want them in the future.

Conclusion

The next time you’re feeling discouraged or unsure about a decision, remember that regression analysis can help you find the best answer. With this tool at your disposal, you’ll be able not only to make better decisions but also feel in control of your own destiny. So what are you waiting for? Get started right away on making those important choices!
