Term Paper Proposal: Assignment Instructions
The purpose of the term paper proposal is to ensure there is a logical and sufficient approach to the final term paper. To complete the term paper proposal, you must first choose one of the two options below. Please carefully consider these options before you make a choice and start working on the term paper proposal.
Option 1: Build an ideal government agency or non-profit organization using the principles of public administration learned throughout the semester. Include clear connections between the assigned readings in your in analysis.
Option 2: Take an already existing government agency or non-profit organization using the principles of public administration learned throughout the semester and provide suggestions on how the organization could fix perceived or real problems you identify.
Once you make a choice, the term paper proposal must provide a comprehensive introduction for the Term Paper. This means it must clearly indicate the option that the paper will explore, why you selected this option, the significance of the organization you selected, and how you plan to develop the paper (methodology).
If you intend to reform an existing organization, you must describe the current organization as fully as possible, and explicitly discuss the reasons why the organization needs reform. Then you must discuss your methodology or how you plan to conduct the analysis. That is, are you going to do a case study, a historical analysis; are you going to collect data such as survey responses to analyze an existing organization, or what do you plan to do?
The plan will also include a bibliography (reference page) with at least 7 academic sources, but the bibliography does not count toward the minimum page count.
