Purpose

 

 

 

The purpose of this assignment is to present the results of the database project.

 

 

 

Course Outcomes

 

 

 

Through this assignment, the student will demonstrate the ability to:

 

 

 

(CO#1) Utilize critical inquiry and judgment to evaluate the design, development, implementation, and outcomes of strategies for managing healthcare-related information (PO#4)

 

 

 

Assignment Overview

 

 

 

Submit a PowerPoint presentation of the database project (12-15 slides).

 

 

 

Use the database plan as a guide, updating as needed. All work done during this course, including discussion threads, assignment papers, appendices, and references, may be used to develop this report. Corrections and updates based on feedback are expected.

 

 

 

Provide the reason(s) for the database, including any supporting evidence. Describe the database developed for the course, showing or narrating the three models: conceptual, logical, and physical. Show the relational tables. Include 3 questions that guided database design. Report the results of testing the database and any revisions needed to the database as a result of testing. Conclude with a recap of the database project and insights gained from working on this project. The presentation and speaker notes must follow APA guidelines.

 

 

 

Assignment Instructions

 

 

 

Abide by the Chamberlain College of Nursing Academic Integrity Policy.

 

 

 

Upload a copy  of the (Excel/Access/Libre ) database that was developed for your project,  Please note if you do not attach the database that was developed for your project to the assignment, 20 points will be deducted.

 

 

 

Develop Power Point providing an overview of the project including:

 

 

 

Introduction establishes topic and organization of presentation

 

 

 

Reason for database is provided, including supporting evidence

 

 

 

Structure of the database developed for this project is described, including conceptual, logical, and physical models; can be presented as text, graphics, or a combination

 

 

 

Relational tables are presented in standard format, with primary keys identified, any secondary keys identified if used, attributes with one data characteristic for each attribute, and normalization issues identified and resolved

 

 

 

Three questions developed for database plan

 

 

 

Description of how database was tested

 

 

 

Results of testing, including any needed changes

 

 

 

Recap of entire project

 

 

 

Insights on information management developed from working on project

 

 

 

Speaker Notes are provided for each slide, except for title and references slides, and provide sufficient depth to allow someone else to take over the presentation.

 

 

 

Criteria for Format and Special Instructions

 

 

 

Grammar, spelling, and punctuation are consistent with formal academic writing.

 

 

 

APA format is used correctly for citations and references

 

 

 

Create 12 – 15 slides, not counting title or references slides

 

 

 

Citations are not included in slides but are part of Speaker Notes
