The health care policies in developing countries are influenced by a variety of factors which include the social, political and economic factors. This article will discuss some of these factors that influence the development and implementation of health care policy in developing countries.

Politics

Culture and tradition

Culture and tradition are important in the development of health care policies. The culture of a country determines the way people live, think about health care, interact with doctors and each other. It also has an effect on how people perceive diseases; for example, if you live in a country where women are forbidden from going outside without their husband’s permission (even though it’s illegal), then there won’t be as much stigma around breast cancer because it doesn’t fit into this cultural norm.

Culture and tradition influence the way people think about health care because they play such an important role in shaping our lives as human beings—and therefore should be considered when developing new policies that affect everyone everywhere!

Social values

In developing countries, social values are important factors that influence the development and implementation of health care policies. The following example illustrates how social values can be translated into effective national policy. In 1997, Uganda passed a law requiring everyone to have access to basic health services at no charge; however, there was no provision for financing this requirement or providing quality care for those who did not have insurance coverage or money available. As a result, most Ugandans could not afford medications needed by themselves or their families if they got sick while traveling abroad or visiting friends and relatives in other countries outside of Uganda (which happens often).

The demographic factors include population size, age distribution and sex ratio. The cultural factors include religion and belief systems as well as ethnicities in a country. Economic development can also influence the demand for health services or not because it changes people’s lifestyles which affects their health status. Political environment plays an important role in determining whether people will have access to affordable medical care or not (World Health Organization).

Health care financing and funding are important factors that influence the development and implementation of health care policy in developing countries. These factors can be influenced by a variety of factors, including political, social, cultural and economic factors.

The importance of financing cannot be overemphasized as it is an essential component of achieving universal health coverage (UHC). It provides all members with access to quality services regardless of their ability to pay or insurance status. The lack of adequate resources for public sector interventions has been cited as one reason why many countries have not achieved UHC despite their commitment towards it
