There are a number of challenges that impact population health. Visit the American Public Health Association’s Topics & Issues. https://www.apha.org/topics-and-issues site and review important public health problems and concerns. These issues feed into population health goals.
Choose a current news topic/item that is relevant to one of these important health concerns.
Once you have chosen a current news item, consider the various challenges that affect population health today. For this discussion, either choose to research and write a well-supported response, or attach a 4-5 minute audio recording of yourself discussing the following:
• Describe what the population health problem is and why.
• Describe what aspects of a population health approach are being used to address the problem
• Discuss managerial tools that might be used to address the problem.
• Discuss why you think it is important that these population health approaches are being used to address this public health problem.
A substantive initial post answers the question presented completely and/or asks a thoughtful question pertaining to the topic. Be sure your post is unique. Do not repeat what other students have said.
