Erick Erikson’s theory of psychosocial development.

The psychosocial theory of development was created by Erik Erikson, a psychiatrist who worked at Harvard University. His theory is based on the assumption that human beings are motivated to move through a series of stages in life. These stages are known as identity formation, generativity, responsibility and selfhood. The five stages consist of:
