The ear provides a sense of balance as well as transmitting sound waves to the brain. The pebbles (otoliths) by lying on the bed of hairs (cilia) gives a sense of the direction in which gravitational pull is acting. The outer part of the year focuses the sound onto the eardrum. The eardrum is very sensitive and responds to force which is 50,000 times smaller than a newton per square meter.
The ligament of the stapes of the ear protects the ear against noise but it is slower than sudden sound. Conductive hearing loss happens in the outer or the middle ear.Effects of Noise Report Assignment

Some of the causes of such hearing loss are wax, and a punctured eardrum. This kind of hearing loss can be treated with a surgical operation. Nerve loss in the inner ear is unlikely to be treated. This kind of hearing loss can be caused by old age, viruses, drugs, and noise.
Hearing is measured using an audiometer. Different frequencies are repeated a few times to test if a person can hear. Testing the inner ear requires a refined test which indicates the sensorineural loss.
Temporary hearing loss is converted to permanent hearing loss if the person if repeatedly exposed to the same conditions that caused the loss. Audiograms should be conducted yearly, and monthly in cases where there varying outcomes are recorded.
The three semicircular canals sense acceleration through movement of fluids in the canals. Sea sickness comes as a result of changes in the frequencies caused by acceleration. Such sensitivity is highest when the frequencies are in between 0.125Hz and 0.25Hz.
High-frequency noise is more annoying because it has short wavelengths, and the ability to be reflected in the same manner as light. A mixture of sound with different frequencies constitute what is known as broadband noise. The sound meter combines different sound frequencies to give out a single value. Doubling noise only increases the total value of noise by about 3dB.
Noise creates exhaustion by bringing on the need to put in more attention. Noise affects speech, and interferes with the interpretation of pictorials. Conversation in the working place is considered to be a distraction because of its intelligibility. However, noise is considered to give assistance when reading written instruction. Noise does not affect productivity.
Noise can be reduced through fixing sound-absorbents on the surfaces that reflect sound. Masking noise is a technique which uses a pleasant sound to cover up the noise such as background music, and a fountain. Buying less noisy equipment is another way of reducing noise.Effects of Noise Report Assignment
People can be separated from noisy equipment in workplaces. The source of noise can be modified to reduce the noise or the quality of sound it produces. Proper maintenance of equipment also reduces noise. Use of personal protective gear such as ear muffs, and ear plugs may also be necessary in some working conditions. Reducing noise requires that the loudest noise is reduced first.
There still exists difficulty in noticing the sensitivity of the ears before hearing loss. Hearing impairment is considered a case where an individual does not recognize 25dB at 1000Hz, 2000Hz, and 3000 Hz. There is legislation which acts as a guide to the length of exposure someone should have daily. Prevention of hearing loss is considered the best method.Effects of Noise Report Assignment

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION;
Discuss hearing loss and effects of noise
Introduction
Ear protection is a must when running or playing sports, but it’s also important to take precautions against hearing loss. If you’re exposed to loud noises, even for just a few hours a week, you may be at risk of developing permanent damage. And while there are many possible causes of hearing loss and ways to prevent it the most common culprits are noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) and noise induced tinnitus (NIT).
Definition of noise induced hearing loss.
Noise-induced hearing loss is caused by exposure to loud noises over a period of time. The most common kind of noise-induced hearing loss is sudden, or traumatic, noise exposure that causes damage in an instant. This type of hearing loss can occur at any age and affects both men and women equally.
There are two types of noise induced hearing loss: permanent and temporary. Permanent is when you have permanent damage to your inner ear due to excessive exposure to loud noises such as gunfire or fireworks; this type is also known as acoustic trauma because it involves trauma from loud sounds like gunshots or fireworks that cause damage directly into your ear drum (tympanic membrane). Temporary hearing loss occurs when there’s no permanent damage done on the body but still has negative effects on how well you can hear things around you after being exposed repeatedly over time periods ranging anywhere between one week up until several months depending on how long these repeated exposures were going on each day before they stopped happening anymore due either because they got tired out themselves trying hard enough trying not fall asleep while listening too carefully every night knowing full well what happens if too much pressure gets pushed onto those tiny little membranes inside everyone’s ears — which means when we get tired enough during our sleep cycle then yes indeed! We might start feeling dizzy spells again; however unlike with Acoustic Trauma Syndrome where people find themselves unable
How does it happen?
Noise-induced hearing loss is caused by exposure to loud noises, such as those from guns and explosions. It can also be caused by exposure to music, concerts and sporting events.
How long does it take for noise-induced hearing loss to develop?
Hearing loss generally occurs over time (the cause of this is not known). However, some people have immediate symptoms when they are exposed to loud noises or their threshold has been lowered by these exposures. The type and severity of symptoms depend on the level at which your ears were exposed; how long you were exposed; how often you were exposed; whether or not there was any damage done during the exposure; and other factors
How do I know if I have it?
The best way to know if you have a hearing loss is by having your doctor perform an audiogram. This will give them an idea of how well you can hear and what kind of damage there may be. If you’re having trouble hearing someone speaking to you on the phone, they may also be able to tell by how loud they need to speak in order for their voice not be distorted by the background noise (noise pollution).
If this sounds like something that might apply to YOU, talk with your doctor!
What can I do about it?
-
Use earplugs or earmuffs. If you are exposed to loud noises for an extended period of time, your ears can become damaged. Earplugs can reduce the amount of sound that reaches your ears by about 30 decibels (dB). However, because they don’t block all sound, you may still have problems with hearing if there is an increase in background noise or if someone speaks directly into your ear from behind you.
-
Avoid loud noises as much as possible and wear hearing protection when necessary. Hearing loss is often caused by exposure to loud sounds over time such as gunfire or thunderstorms but some other factors like high blood pressure and diabetes can also contribute toward developing this condition
Even (temporary) hearing loss can be dangerous.
Even (temporary) hearing loss can be dangerous. It can cause dizziness and vertigo, which are symptoms of imbalance in the inner ear. This can lead to falls and other injuries if the problem isn’t treated quickly. Hearing loss is often linked with noise-induced tinnitus—ringing ears—but it can also occur without any obvious source of noise pollution.
People who work in environments where there’s a lot of loud noises may experience permanent damage over time if they don’t protect themselves by using hearing protection devices every day when exposed to high levels of such sounds at work or home life activities like lawn mowing or car maintenance
Conclusion
The good news is that you can protect your hearing.
You may be able to choose between wearing earplugs or headphones when you’re at the concert or attending a sporting event. You might also want to consider keeping music at a lower volume and avoiding prolonged exposure to loud noises such as those from heavy machinery.
If you do have ringing in your ears (tinnitus), there are some things that can help with this too such as acupuncture, sound therapy or even listening through bone conduction devices which bypasses the outer ear completely (like an ear plug).
But remember: no matter what, if you have a hearing loss then it’s not something that should be ignored! Don’t take chances with your hearing health because it could save your life someday down the road.
