Preparation

(a) Visit the Microsoft website (www.microsoft.com) and enter the phrase “Ease of Access” in the search box.

(b) Review a selection of the resources provided there. There are too many for you to review them all, but select a handful to review.

(c) Examine the accessibility options in Windows. In Windows 11, go to the Start menu. Select Settings and then Accessibility. Windows provides accessibility options related to vision, hearing, and interaction. Try some of those out.

Writing Your Assignment

Write a 2-3 page paper in which you discuss the following:

Describe the resources that you reviewed in the Microsoft “Ease of Access” search. What was your experience like? Did anything surprise you? Which individuals might benefit from those?

Describe the accessibility options in Windows that you tried out. What was your experience like? Did anything surprise you? How does knowing about these inform what you might do in your classroom? How might you provide information about this to your school colleagues (as you are a teacher leader in an ed specialist program)?
