Interview
Conduct an in-depth interview with a person of a faith tradition with which you are not closely
familiar. Research the religion in advance.
Prepare a list of at least ten specific questions. Some topics you might consider asking about
are:
 The person’s thoughts on one or more controversial topic(s) and how those thoughts
relate to his or her religious beliefs.
 Obstacles or challenges the person faces in practicing his or her religion in the U.S.
 Misconceptions others hold about this person’s religion.
 The person’s favorite thing about practicing his or her religion.
Describe something you have learned about the religion to your interviewee and ask him or her
to elaborate on the subject.
Paper
Write a paper containing the following components:
 Include an introduction.
 State your own religious affiliation.
 Provide the name and basic demographic information about the person you interviewed.
 Discuss the findings of your interview.
 Compare your research on the religion to what you learned from your interview.
 Include a conclusion.
Your paper must be at least 1000 words in length. You must include in-text citations and your
reference list must include a minimum of three sources, one of which must be the online course
reading. Use APA format for citations and reference list.
Include your interview questions and answers on a separate page with your paper when you
submit.
