In this course, students enhance their critical thinking abilities and acquire advanced nursing expertise to prepare for their master’s-level nursing specialization. They design and execute a tailored practicum experience with guidance from a preceptor at a location of their choosing. During this period, they showcase the integration of their professional and academic growth by actively engaging in a collaborative community, where they share knowledge, experiences, and practical advice with their peers. Throughout the practicum, students also build and maintain an electronic portfolio, which includes their coursework projects, demonstrations of competence and goal attainment, as well as documentation of their practical experiences (such as hours worked, preceptor evaluations, achievement of objectives, and contributions to the organization).
