Autocratic Leadership

Autocratic leadership is a top-down style of management. The leader makes all the decisions and has the final word on everything, even if it goes against the opinion of his or her subordinates. The leader’s decisions are not always popular, but they are made with an eye toward achieving their own goals first and foremost.

Autocratic leaders may also be called dictators or kings because they have absolute power over their organization’s operations—and this can lead to problems if you want your employees to feel like they have a voice in what happens at work (or if you simply want them to be happy).

Democratic Leadership

Democratic leadership is based on the consent of the group members. The leader’s power is derived from his or her ability to persuade others, and it can be limited by the group’s willingness to follow. Leaders are more servants than bosses: they serve their followers by providing direction, guidance, and support in times of need.

Transformational Leadership

Transformational leadership is a style of leadership that focuses on creating a shared vision, engaging the followers in the vision and developing the capacity of the followers to execute that vision. It’s based on the idea that people are most motivated by something larger than themselves, like an organization or cause they believe in.

Transformational leaders use these three principles:
