Importance of interdisciplinary approach in global health issues
Introduction
Many serious global health issues require a sophisticated interdisciplinary approach, in which multiple disciplines come together to find solutions. The COVID-19 pandemic, SARS and swine flu are all examples of this type of situation. Having a network of healthcare professionals from different disciplines enables us to attack these problems from every angle simultaneously. Interdisciplinary approaches can provide us with highly effective ways to further our understanding of global health issues and find solutions to them.

By having access to people with diverse thought processes, we can identify more information about global health issues than if we just relied on one profession alone.
By having access to people with diverse thought processes, we can identify more information about global health issues than if we just relied on one profession alone. For example, a team of nurses may come up with a different solution than an epidemiologist and economist in the same room. There are many different approaches to solving a problem and the more people working on it, the better chance you have at finding the solution using all available resources.
When we have a network of physicians working together collaboratively on a global health issue, we can take action from various angles.
When we have a network of physicians working together collaboratively on a global health issue, we can take action from various angles. The most obvious benefit is that we will be able to identify more information about global health issues than if we just relied on one profession alone.
Secondly, by bringing together different perspectives and ideas, the collective knowledge base of our team grows rapidly. We are able to brainstorm solutions by calling on a variety of healthcare professionals to provide their unique perspectives and expertise in order to devise new strategies for addressing each problem faced by patients worldwide.
Interdisciplinary cooperation among healthcare workers is critical in solving many serious global health issues today.

One example of an interdisciplinary approach: The World Health Organization (WHO) is partnering with the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics (FIGO) to develop guidelines on how best to treat chlamydia infections in women around the world. Chlamydia is one of the most common STIs, affecting over 100 million people each year worldwide—a figure that will continue to grow as economic pressure forces more people into unsanitary living conditions where they can contract this disease easily. If you live anywhere near an international airport or have ever traveled abroad, you may have heard about chlamydia; however, many people don’t realize that it can be transmitted sexually as well as via contaminated surfaces like towels used by travelers who touch down at your gate before boarding their flight home again after visiting another country with different sanitation standards than what’s practiced back home!
Conclusion
It’s clear that there is a need for interdisciplinary cooperation between healthcare workers. By working together on issues such as SARS, swine flu and COVID-19 pandemic outbreaks, we can make a difference in the lives of millions of people around the world.
