Define the concept of critical thinking in your own words. Discuss a time in either your work or personal life in which you needed to be able to use critical thinking to either solve a problem or acquire a skill.
• Determine the manner in which you would show a potential employer that you possess solid critical thinking skills. Give your opinion on whether or not you believe that individuals can increase their critical thinking skills. If you believe that they can, explain certain steps that individuals can take to improve this skill.

You must proofread your paper. But do not strictly rely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part and you can expect your grade to suffer accordingly. Papers with numerous misspelled words and grammatical mistakes will be penalized. Read over your paper – in silence and then aloud – before handing it in and make corrections as necessary. Often it is advantageous to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Handwritten corrections are preferable to uncorrected mistakes.

Use a standard 10 to 12 point (10 to 12 characters per inch) typeface. Smaller or compressed type and papers with small margins or single-spacing are hard to read. It is better to let your essay run over the recommended number of pages than to try to compress it into fewer pages.

Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.

The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced with a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, and sides of each page. When submitting hard copy, be sure to use white paper and print out using dark ink. If it is hard to read your essay, it will also be hard to follow your argument.

Decision Making

Decision making is an important skill to develop. It’s vital that you understand the process of decision making and how it works in your specific situation, so you can make better decisions. You need to consider all the options, including their pros and cons, values and goals. And then consider consequences!

For example: if you want to buy a new car but don’t have enough money saved up yet, there are two main things you should consider: (1) Do I really need this car? (2) What will happen if I don’t get one now?

Critical Thinking

Critical thinking is a way of thinking that is clear, rational and open-minded. It involves the use of logic, reason and evidence to evaluate claims or arguments. Critical thinkers are able to challenge their assumptions and make informed decisions based on what they know at that time.

• questioning assumptions (asking questions about what you think you know)

Creativity

Creativity is the ability to come up with novel and useful ideas. It’s often associated with divergent thinking, which involves generating a large number of ideas; however, creativity can also be associated with convergent thinking, which involves narrowing down the options.

Creativity is not just an innate talent—it requires practice and training as well. This can be done through reading (e.g., literary works), listening to music/soundscapes/vocalizations that inspire you creatively (e.g., operatic singing), watching movies or television shows that inspire you creatively (e.g., animated films), playing video games that inspire you creatively (e..g., role-playing games), etc…

People Skills

Leadership

Leadership is a skill that can be learned. In fact, leadership skills are the key to success in any field of endeavor.

Leadership is about influence: the ability to get people to follow you or your ideas because they believe in them and trust you as an authority figure. It’s also about making decisions based on what’s best for everyone involved not just yourself (or your company).

The best leaders inspire others around them by being honest with themselves and others concerning their strengths and weaknesses; they look past their own needs while focusing on those around them who may have less access than they do but deserve better treatment from the organization as well!

• You need to be able to communicate effectively with people from different backgrounds and cultures.

• You must be able to listen and understand others.

• The ability to negotiate is an essential skill for success in the workplace.
