Coaching Assessments

Introduction

Coaching is the art of helping people reach their goals. It’s a profession that requires a lot of personalization and flexibility, so it’s important to have assessments in place to help with that. Here are some trusted ways you can assess your coaching candidates:

TMA

TMA is a coaching tool used to help coaches and clients identify personal strengths, values and goals. TMA can be used in a one-on-one coaching setting or group settings with other coaches or managers. TMA can be used by individuals who don’t feel they have the skills required to do well on their own, but want to improve their performance at work.

TMA helps people understand what it takes for them personally in order for them to succeed at work (or any other area of life). It also provides information about how others see you as well as your strengths/weaknesses from an external perspective which may prove useful in making decisions about career choices or career paths.

MBTI

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is a personality assessment that was developed by Carl Jung and Isabel Briggs Myers in the 1940s. It identifies four types: Extraversion, Introversion, Sensing, Intuition and Thinking/Feeling. Each of these types has two opposing characteristics they look for when making decisions or responding to situations. The MBTI is an excellent tool for understanding how you react to your environment as well as how others perceive you based on their own personalities.

There are many different versions of this test online if you want more information about it before testing yourself!

HBDI

HBDI is an assessment tool that identifies your personality type. It helps you understand how you make decisions and which aspects of life are most important to you, so that you can use the results to improve your relationships with others.

The HBDI assessment is simple: it takes about 15 minutes, requires no special equipment or training, and can be done anywhere there’s a laptop with internet access (e.g., at home).

Clifton StrengthsFinder

Clifton StrengthsFinder is a behavioral assessment tool that helps you determine your strengths, weaknesses and potential areas for growth. It’s used by organizations like IBM and the United States Marine Corps in their military re-enlistment process.

This assessment is an excellent way to identify which areas you should focus on developing as a coach or counselor. If you want to be more effective at coaching your clients, but don’t know where to begin or how to get started with it, then this test can help!

Kolb Learning Styles

The Kolb Learning Style Model is a four-quadrant framework that describes how people learn best. It’s based on the research of David Kolb, who developed this model to help teachers understand their students’ learning styles and understand how they can best meet their needs in the classroom.

The four quadrants are:

  • Concrete Experiences (CE) – Use these if you want your students to be able to “see” what they are doing or seeing as well as being able to manipulate objects/ideas in front of them during instruction. For example, if you’re teaching someone about color mixing by using paint colors from each color family (red, yellow green blue), you’d use CE for this type of presentation because it allows them access not only through concrete experience but also through visual stimulation as well!

  • Reflective Observation (RO) – This would be used when trying something out at home independently before bringing into class so that students have time away from structured activities where observation skills can develop naturally without being forced into specific situations where observation may not come naturally unless specifically instructed otherwise beforehand.”

Takeaway:

The takeaway is a summary of the article. It should be a statement that you want your readers to take away and implement in their lives. The takeaway should also be related to the topic of the article, if possible.
